About the Project

Dutch Rentalz was in need of a website rebuild and they wanted to give their customers the ability to rent equipment right on the website.

We rebuilt their website in WordPress and worked with their ERP provider as they built out the api for rentals.

Customer Accounts

We wanted to make sure that when a user creates an account on the website, an account for that customer gets created in EBMS (the ERP). If the customer already has an account in EBMS we wanted to make sure a new account wasn't created in EBMS and their existing data got linked to their new website account.

To achieve this we have customers enter their phone number when they create an account, and if there's already an account in EBMS with that phone number we send the customer a verification code via Twilio Verify. Once the customer verifies their account, we create their new account on WordPress and link the account to EBMS.

Renting Equipment

In order to give customers the ability to rent from the website, I built a custom datepicker plugin using SvelteKit. Customers can select when they want their reservation to begin and end and it will check to see if the equipment they want is available during that range.

If the equipment is available they can add it to their cart and checkout to complete the reservation.
